The Cherry Hill Fire Company No 1, who occupies Station 7, was known as the East Merchantville Fire Company until Delaware Township changed its name to Cherry Hill. Recently, in 2004, they moved to their new headquarters at the Beechwood Avenue firehouse, in the Woodland section.

Today, Station 7 is staffed by the volunteer firefighters of Cherry Hill Fire Company #1.
